The strategic focus of the Gebbie Foundation is to revitalize downtown Jamestown through collaborative economic development initiatives that will make it an attractive place to live, work, meet, shop, and visit.

In decision making, we are guided by development strategies outlined in the Jamestown Urban Design Plan (UDP), the Urban Design Plan 2.0, the Downtown Jamestown Economic Development Strategy developed by AECOM, the Chadakoin River Strategic Business Plan, and Main Street America’s framework for community revitalization.

We intentionally invest in organizations and entities whose mission supports the implementation of these strategies and invite entities to apply for grants based on objectives identified by the Board of Directors.

  • If your LOI is approved, a draft application will appear on your Dashboard to complete.

In this case, a prospective applicant should create an account on Chautauqua Grants and upload a 1–2-page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for review. Staff at the Foundation will receive notice that the letter was uploaded. Please allow 2 weeks from the date of submission for a decision on the LOI. If approved, the website will open a draft application for you to complete.
