Gebbie Foundation Hires New Financial Officer
Greg Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of the Gebbie Foundation, is pleased to announce the recent addition of Kathy Burch to the staff as the new Financial Officer. “Kathy brings a high level of experience and expertise to the position that enables her to readily assume the daily responsibilities required,” said Edwards. “I know I speak for the board and the rest of the staff when I say we are happy she is part of the Gebbie team.”
The Financial Officer must possess diverse accounting, project management and oversight skills in order to provide Foundation leadership with financial information, reports and recommendations. Processing invoices and grant payments are included in her responsibilities. Burch said, “I am excited to be part of the Gebbie staff and have my work contribute to the revitalization efforts in downtown Jamestown.”
Prior to assuming her new role, Burch served as Administrative Director at the Chautauqua County Health Network and over 25 years at the American Red Cross in a wide range of capacities including Individual & Community Preparedness Specialist, Major Gift Officer and the Director of Business Operations and Chapter Advancement.
A graduate of Houghton College, she earned a B.S. in Management and earned an Associate degree in Business Accounting from Jamestown Community College. She is an alumnus of the Chautauqua Leadership Network.
In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees in the Town of South Valley, Burch helps manage a family business and has been highly active in the community. She currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Girl Scouts of Western New York, Board of Directors of Family Service of the Chautauqua Region and is a member of the Jamestown Rotary Club.
